  3. What is crime? • an act punishable by law • the breach of rules or laws Can crime be stopped? • NO, because crime has always been there. • NO, because there will always be people who commit crimes. • NO, because people are envious and evil and want more for themselves.

Types of punishment • traffic ticket – speeding, parking • license suspension - drunk driving • fine • house arrest - a young offender who is waiting to go to court • community service - a youth that steals a car for the first time • jail time • life in prison – no chance of returning back to society

Some of them are having a good time - they can watch TV, do sports... • No, community service is better. / Community service is an easy penalty. • Yes, it's right to take their freedom. It's a cruel punishment for a man.
