  3. The “Stone” Ages • The android operating system had it’s debut in 2008. The first tablet, however, was created before electricity was even thought of. The first “tablet” was created around 500-600 B.C. but nobody seems to actually know who created it. It was a block of stone with glyphs of plants, animals, and shapes on it.

  4. The “Paper” Ages • Things have moved pretty slowly for the next two and a half thousand years, though. Designers and idealists moved from stone to paper, and then someone had an idea: the telautograph. And also, electricity was created.

  5. The “Tech” Ages • With electricity flowing through the creators’ minds, there was time and power for innovation. They got to work, and work, and work, for 68 years, to create the first tablet to not use a keyboard.

  6. …Continued • The next big thing to be released was the iPad from Apple. It was sleek and multifunctional, and the screen was large enough to be considered a computer screen.

  7. The impact on the world • This caused people to go crazy with the manufacturing of their own versions of the tablet. Various companies started to develop their own gadgets to compete with apple. Meanwhile, the android was coming from small-scale “toys” to international “superstars”.

  8. Tech Today • Today, at least 1 in 2 people in the world have either an android or tablet in their household. They are very popular, and technological advances suggest there is much more to come.

  9. Back To The Future • With technology coming as fast as it does, how long will it be before we have touch screens in thin air, or cellphone microchips in our heads? Okay, that last one was a little far fetched, but it is cool to think about the possibilities that await.

  10. Bibliography • I used www.google.ca for all of my research. It is a very liable search engine, and kudos to the creators.
