  1. My first trip to Amsterdam in a nutshell Welcome to my first travel blog of Amsterdam. I see you have been browsing the net to find a blog that would help in planning your trip to this stunning destination. I am so glad you have found me to guide you. Having traveled a lot has given me a lot of insight when it comes to traveling. I hope you find my learnings helpful for your future endeavors. This blog has the essence of my first trip to Amsterdam from the latest travel updates and travels restrictions to the best places to cover in a short trip. Amsterdam is a great destination and should be on everybody’s bucket list. Its immensely popular for its history, canals, bridges, and food. Since it was my first time there, I tried to soak in as much as I can. Without any further ado. Let’s begin. Travel Restrictions and Requirements for Leisure Travel in Amsterdam

  2. Before jumping into the travel part I would like to mention how traveling has changed since the last year. Some countries are open for leisure travel and some are still struggling with the pandemic. Amsterdam has its own set of rules and travel requirements that needs to be adhered to by every foreign traveler. The social distancing and mask-wearing rules are still in place here, so make sure you are keeping your distance from strangers and covering your nose and mouth with a government-advised mask at all times, when in Amsterdam. I understand traveling to their dream destinations is not possible for a lot of people these days. But that does not mean you cannot do your research in advance. You will also get to explore Amsterdam vicariously through me. That’s not such a bad deal. Is it? Amsterdam- the land of history and architecture Did you know that Amsterdam’s 450-year-old canals and bridges have been noticed and listed by UNESCO? Getting a taste of Amsterdam through its concentric canal ring was the first thing on my list. I am so glad I got to do it. The city has a huge canal network connecting different landmarks and destinations. One piece of advice I would like to give here is that pack comfortable shoes because you will be walking a lot in Amsterdam. Do make it a point to capture the city’s medieval bridges in your camera. The foundation of the city is really strong and maybe that is the reason why they were able to save a lot of historical sites such as bridges and Golden Age Houses. Amsterdam city cruise tour and private boat tours Cruises are highly popular among travelers to explore Amsterdam in all its bloom. It is not only peaceful but also gives you great insight into the city’s culture and architecture. I was sitting next to a local couple on the cruise and after an hour of an amazing conversation with them found out a lot about the city and locals; daily life. Some cruises have recorded commentary and an audio guide and some cruises come with an experienced captain who narrates folk tales and fascinating facts about the city. You can always book in advance and pick the kind of cruise you are interested in. There are private boat tours as well which are more expensive but give you exclusive access to the city. The private boat tours come with complimentary wine and delicious appetizers. You will also be provided a private guide who will take you through the daily life of locals to its history and struggles.

  3. Monuments and historic sites If you are like me and tend to take mini-vacations throughout the year instead of one big vacation, Amsterdam is the perfect destination for you. You can cover a lot of the city’s landmarks and historical sites in a short period. It will not be called a trip to Amsterdam without a trip to Anne Frank House. I believe it's important to gain a perspective of the destination you visit. Visiting Anne Frank House made me aware of the challenges of World War from the eyes of a teenage girl. It was truly a remarkable experience. A pro tip- Book your tickets to the Anne Frank House online. Do not make the mistake of thinking you will get the tickets on the spot. I did in advance and was given a time and a slot for my visit This was an experience in essence. I hope you found this useful enough to plan a trip to Amsterdam. At my last point, I have booked my flight from Spirit Airlines Phone Number and i feel free. Original Resource Url: https://blog.spacehey.com/entry?id=31545
