  15. CESSNA AIRCRAFT UPDATE Cessna announces Jet-A Fueled Turbo Skylane JT-A Cessna to discontinue production of avgas powered 182s

  16. Advantages • Lower fuel burn rate • Increased range • 2400 hr TBO • Reduced CO emissions • Disadvantages • Cost is $145,000 more than the 182T • 125 lb reduction in payload • 18.5 gallon fuel reduction or 1.7 hours • Limited availability of Jet-A at smaller airfields • Most shops have no experience with diesel

  17. CONSIDERATIONS • Use acquisition funds to buy turbo 206s • Evaluate imaging systems broad industry RFI • Consider acquiring late model used 182s and modifying to CAP specifications • Explore other manufacturers aircraft

  21. Average Cost Per Flying Hour

  22. Challenges Ahead • Increasing costs of aircraft maintenance • Declining budgets • Increasing costs of 100 LL • Decreases in total flying time • Cessna terminating 182T production • Fleet modernization in a declining economy • Uncertainty of meeting future mission needs under current constraints • ADS-B 2020 mandate • Rightsizing the aircraft fleet
