  1. Why I love fundraising By Holly-Anna Petersen

  2. 1) You can do things you wouldn’t normally be able to do

  3. This is an image of me sporting a wonderful drawn on moustache which I had on for a solid month … This was actually taken at my friends wedding

  4. 2) You can use it to be an example to people around you

  5. The Bardic Bike Tour is an awesome way to lead by example. Cycling is not only good for yourself but also a sustainable way of getting around…

  6. 3) You can use it to get new people to your SPEAK group

  7. Sometimes it can be scary just approaching people and asking them to join your SPEAK group… Holding a fundraising event gives you a good reason to approach new people. Inviting people to take part in or attend your fundraising event is a great way to spark that initial interaction and at the event they will be engaged with your SPEAK group and issues that you are passionate about

  8. 4) You can use it to talk to people about what you’re passionate about

  9. This is a picture of me about to launch into a charity hitch hike for a Climate change charity It was great because once someone had picked us up, they obviously asked us what charity we were doing it for. This meant we had a captive audience listening to our spiel about the importance of living a green lifestyle!

  10. There are four different types of fundraisers… • Feat – a physical or mental challenge • Hardship – going without something or enduring something for a period of time • Social Taboo – sporting something which is embarrassing • Event – holding an entertaining or engaging event

  11. Choose what you’re going to do… Fundraise awayyyyy…And have fun!
