  2. IP Project The objective of the IP Project “Innovation and Technology for Smart Cities (ITSmart)” is to bring together students and academics from Europe in order to approach or improve knowledge of some advanced and innovative technologies for the design and development of smart cities

  3. IP Project In the ITSmart Project the lectures are focused on smart living in terms of: • quality of life • housing quality and domotics • smart mobility • cloud computing technologies for smart government • cultural and education facilities • touristic attractivity • medical services and healthcare solutions • advanced information-based services

IP Project “ITSmart” • The main technologies used during the lectures will be: • computer graphics • image processing • virtual reality • augmented reality • 3D visualization • computer vision • human-computer interaction • virtual acoustics • cloud computing • data mining • sensor network • intelligent computer systems • natural language processing • information retrieval

IP Project “ITSmart” • the participants admitted will be 70 (including 10 Italian students) • the teachers will be 17 (including 3 Italian teachers) • an external expert coming from an enterprise specialized on design for independent living will be invited for the lecture on smart living and domotics • it will be possible to visit: • the research laboratories of the Department of Engineering for Innovation of the University of Salento • the research laboratories of the DREAM • the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (with the IBM Power6 supercomputer) 

  6. IP Project “ITSmart” • location: Lecce, Italy • starting date: July 20, 2014 • duration: 14 days (70 hours, 7 hours per day) • weekend activities: guided visits of Lecce and Otranto
