  1. How to UpdateYour Photoshop Template: Location:classbox/ vfainshtein/ DM85File name: template2012.psd (The template is a layered Photoshop file. Do not compress the layers. Please save a copy of the template on your flash drive, etc.)

  2. How to Add Visual Guides: If the rulers are not visible, chooseView > Rulers (or press Cmd R). 2. Drag from the horizontal ruler to create a horizontal guide. 3. Drag from the vertical ruler to create a vertical guide. to remove a guide: select it and drag it off the page

  3. How to Update Text: 1. Double-click on the “T” icon to select text 2. Now that old text is selected, you can delete it & add new text 1

  4. How to Scale Images: 1. Select the layer that has the image on it. 2. Press Cmd T. 3. Grab one of the corners and drag to scale the image. Remember to hold Shift key while scaling to prevent the image from being skewed.

  5. How to Change Background Color: 1. Select “Background Color” layer. 2. Double-click the black box to open Color Picker. 3. Pick a new color and click “OK”. 2 3

  6. How to Change Color of Navigation Bar: 3 Open “Navigation Bar Folder” and select layer called “Navigation Bar” Press Cmd U. Check “Colorize” box on the right. 3. Adjust Hue& Saturation settings and say “O.K”. 2

  7. How to Add New Images: If you found your image on the Web: Use “Copy & Paste” to bring it into Photoshop. To copy an image on a MAC, hold down Cmd key and right click on the image. The shortcut for paste is Cmd V. If the image is saved on your drive: Go to File > Open to open it in Photoshop Press Select All (or Cmd A) Copy it (Cmd C) and Paste (Cmd V) into the template file (template2012.psd)

  8. How to Replace Photo at the Top: Copy & paste yournew image in Photoshop. Place the new image directly above the layercalled “New Photo”. Turn the layer on. Position your mouse pointer over theborder between the two layers and hold down the Option key. When the mouse pointer changes to two overlapping circles, click once to create a clipping mask.
