  2. Parents Guide • Internet is the most important tool that is being used by the young generation today. • Understanding safety of the young internet user is very important. • Following steps will assist you in monitoring your child’s safety.

  3. Educate Your Self Educate yourself on the latest threats facing kids online (e.g.,cyber bullying  sexting, etc.)

  4. Explain Explain to your child that he/she should never give out personally identifiable information online

  5. Monitor • Use age-appropriate filtering, blocking and monitoring software on all Internet

  6. Communicate • Talk with your child about Internet safety as soon as he/she begins using the Internet. 

  7. Students Guide NEVER • Give out any personal information such as your address, telephone number, parents' place of work or their phone number!

  8. NEVERrespond to any messages thatmake you feel uncomfortable!

  9. Think before you click on any link! Not everything you see online is safe!
