Purpose of the Study • We want to understand what the athletics coaching workforce looks like in 2014! • How many coaches? • What event disciplines? • What types of participants and performers are coaches working with? • Where is coaching happening? • Qualification levels and future needs • Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and future needs • Coach payment • Major issues/problems faced by coaches

  3. Club Coaching Survey Targeted at clubs to find out more about their coaching workforce. It will look at issues such as: • Are there enough coaches in clubs to meet demand? • Where (e.g. in which clubs, levels, disciplines) are most coaches needed? • Do coaches need further development? • How can these development opportunities be provided?

Leeds Athletics Network Pilot • Coaching Coordinator/Secretary • Pilot Study over next few weeks- paper version • Feedback from clubs before the survey goes live online • Benefits to be part of the pilot • Useful audit exercise for clubs in terms of planning coaching strategy • Potential to produce report at LAN level to support funding bids
