  3. Tuesday, September 17th • Bring textbook to class • Unit 1 & 2 Notebook Quiz • You will receive a zero if you leave your notebook at home, in your locker,etc. • Tonight read Part one of Unit Three notes

  4. Wednesday, September 18th • Bring book to class • Read part two of Unit 3 notes

  5. Thursday, September 19th • Rainbow Edit/Core Structure due • The prompt is: “Analyze the impact of the American Revolution on both slavery and the status of women in the period from 1775 – 1800.” • Read pages 138-139,chapters 8 – 9 of your textbook and/or reliable internet sources for information.

Rainbow Edit/Core Structure directions • Write a complete introductory paragraph and then… highlight/circle the • Background information in orange • Time/place in yellow • Thesis parts: - your answer to the question in pink, your position in green, and in this case the TWO organizational categories in blue • Buy highlighters or colored pencils to complete this part of the assignment – “I don’t have any highlighters.” will not be an acceptable excuse.

Rainbow Edit/Core Structure directions • State the TWO major topic sentences that support the thesis. • Rank the four most important pieces of factual information that support the TWO topic sentences. Remember this simply means list the specific factual information you would use to prove your thesis. (People, places & things related to your thesis.) • Create a clincher sentence for BOTH topics that ties the paragraph together and links it to the thesis. • Write a conclusion that restates the thesis and has a big picture statement.
