  1. Roller coasters & Fountain Run By: Claire Mouser Kaci Martir Donnyell Lowe Mackenzie Kirkwood Emily Korte

  2. methods We used 3 insulation tubes to design an 80 in. roller coaster. The materials that we used to make the roller coaster were: insulation tubes, masking tape, wooden boards, marbles, and any other materials that were in site. The challenging part was to make it 30 in. tall. It had to require at least 2 hills, 2 curves, and at least 1 loop.

  3. results Some of the experiments you had to adjust the coaster because some of them didn’t have enough momentum and energy to make it all the way to the end in order to make a stop. Most of the coasters had to do 2 opportunities to show the roller coaters because mostly on the 1st try it didn’t work. We got a lot of the loops to work on the coaster. Many of the coasters stayed consistent because if the coaster didn’t work it would fall or stop in the same place the aspects that did work were the hills and curves.

  4. Lab conclusions During the roller coaster lab we learned that gravity, force, and inertia affects the movement of the cart. A lot of us from the presentation groups roller coasters worked at least once out of the two turns. Some of our coasters had either to steep hills or curves that are tilted sideways too much. It changed how we thought because it was a lot harder than it looks at any amusement park. We would recommend this for camp in the future because it is a good way to work together and show good sportsmanship and teamwork.

  6. Social activity • In this activity we liked how we could all run through the fountain and get wet and have fun with the new friends that we made during camp. • We learned never to push someone during the fountain run or they will get hurt. • They should definitely do this next year and however many years to come because we all had fun and enjoyed ourselves.

  7. Final thoughts • Kaci’s favorite thing about camp was meeting new people • Mackenzie’s favorite thing about camp was the fountain run. • Donnyell’s favorite thing about camp was making the bouncy ball. • Claire’s favorite thing about camp was getting to go the Indiana Beach. • Emily’s favorite thing about camp was riding all the roller coasters.
