HAIKU 俳句. DEFINITION. A very short form of Japanese poetry Juxtaposes or contrasts two images or ideas A Traditional haiku consists of 17 syllables in three lines of 5, 7 and 5 syllables each. There is usually a kigo which is a seasonal reference.
