College Search • Using Naviance • Connection.naviance.com/psct • Firstinitiallastname • Psapsa • College Tab (SuperMatch) • Save Colleges to your list (favorites) • Allows easier application submission later • Broad and Specific Searches (Qualities within each school) • Broad = More Results based on less requirements • Specific = Less

SAT Test • Done by CollegeBoard (company) • Free at PSA in February • 3 sections (Reading, Math, and Writing) • Up to 800 points in each section • Average is 1500 (500 per section) • Fall test is done at home school district • $50 at own expense, unless Free/Reduced Lunch (free) • PSA Students took an SAT English and Math Course

  7. College Visits • PSA Field Trips • Advertised on Naviance and through PSA Morning Announcements • Family Trips • Best during College School Day • Best to hit a variety of schools to gain feel for what is best for student • Public vs. Private • City vs. Suburban • Large vs. Small

Next and Last • Applying • Done in Fall of Senior Year • Another Presentation then • Scholarships • Done in Winter of Senior Year • Another Presentation then • Financial Aid • Done in Winter/Spring of Senior Year • Complete and KEEP all W2’s and Tax Returns • Another Presentation then • Decision • Done in Spring of Senior Year • Best to have OPTIONS • Balance between cost, love, qualities, etc.
