  1. The skin is our body’s largest organ. Just like the health of every other organ decides on the health of your body, in the same way, the health of your skin speaks volumes about your overall health. So, what is your skin saying to you about your health? Read on to understand what different skin conditions mean, and how you should deal with them. Dry itchy skin Dry skin could just be a symptom of a dry climate. But, if the climate isn’t dry, and you still have dry skin, beware, it could be eczema. Eczema is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that can cause dry itchy skin, while also being related to asthma and hay fever. Sallow complexion / dark skin If your skin lacks luster, it could be due to various factors. Either the weather is taking on your skin, or it could be dehydration. Drink enough water and get ample sleep to improve the look of your skin. You may also undergo a professional skin rejuvenation procedure to brighten your skin. Dark circles

  2. One of the most common skin conditions is dark circles caused under the eyes. This could be caused by genetics, age, or lifestyle factors. It could also mean nutrient deficiency, dehydration, or lack of sleep. Psoriasis Psoriasis is a skin condition that is marked by raised, scaly, red rashes with silvery scales. They might also make tiny pinholes on your body. This condition indicates that you have an overactive immune system that causes your skin cells to multiply up to 10 times faster than normal. Increased sweating If you think sweating is a normal procedure, remember that increased amounts of anything isn’t good; and so is with sweating. Increased sweating with redness of palms, facial flushing, hair loss, or hair thinning could mean you have an overactive thyroid. Skin flushing A chronically red flushing forehead and cheeks could mean dilated blood vessels, caused due to a chronic skin condition called rosacea. It could also be caused due to hormonal changes in women, such as menopause. If the flushing is accompanied by swelling, you could be suffering from an allergic reaction. Visible veins Veins are an important indicator of the blood circulation health of the body. Thus, when veins on your hands or legs can be seen, it could signal deeper issues with your blood flow caused by age, weight, and genetics. These signals may indicate future health concerns. Frequent bruising Frequent unexplained bruising that doesn’t heal could signal a bleeding disorder. However, if it is coming with ageing, it could mean the capillaries are coming closer to the surface as your skin thins. Another reason may be blood thinning medications that can contribute to bruising. All of these conditions may call for immediate medical attention. While some of the conditions can be treated with medications, creams, ointments, or therapies, there are certain conditions that may require advanced steps to be taken. This is when you may need
