  2. Where is Water? • Water covers 70% of the Earth’s surface • 97% of water is found in ocean (or is salt water and not drinkable!) • 2% of water is ice and snow • 1% of water is FRESH water (normally found in the ground, rivers, lakes and streams).

  4. Another look at how water is distributed. -99 percent of all water (oceans, seas, ice, most saline water, and atmospheric water) is not available for our uses. -Of the 1 percent that is usable for humans a lot of it is out of reach.
