  2. Introduction • You are an astronaut on a mission to another planet in our solar system. You will join a crew to gather information about your destination. When you become experts, you will voyage to this planet. After exploring it, you will create a travel brochure for your planet.

  3. Task • Your job is to collect data about your planet. Your crew of astronauts will work as a team to collect this scientific information. You will need to show your data sheet to Mission Control before blast off. • Create a travel brochure. • Present your data as a crew to your peers and Mission Control

  4. Process • First, Mission Control (your teacher) will assign you to a crew  ( 3 students ). • Contact Mission Control for your planet destination. • Print out each of the Data Collection Sheets. DC Sheet 1, DC Sheet 2, DC Sheet 3 • Decide which data sheet each crew member will be responsible for completing with information about your planet destination.  • *You are now ready to start collecting data. Use a circle map for note taking. • *Click here and print out draft sheetsfor each of your crew. 

  5. Evaluation • Review the Rubric to see how you will be scored

  6. Conclusion • Congratulations, you have now gathered all of the information you will need for your planet! • By completing this Web Quest, you have learned how to research, record and organize information. • You have also learned how to use computers and technology to create a project.

  7. Teachers • 4.7 The student will investigate and understand the organization of the solar system. Key concepts include • a) the planets in the solar system; • b) the order of the planets in the solar system; and • c) the relative sizes of the planets.
