  2. Elisha Graves Otis (August 3, 1811 – April 8, 1861) He was an American industrialist, founder of the Otis Elevator Company, and inventor of a safety device that prevents elevators from falling in the hoisting cable fails.

  3. He was born into a large family on a farm near Halifax. As a young man trying to do business, but ill health prevented succeed. In 1845, he moved to Albany, close to New York, and for three years he worked as a mechanic in a factory bed “tingley”, were he began to engage in railway safety brakes.

  4. The first show In 1852, he moved to New York. There has faced in dealing with the problem of security of lifting heavy equipment to the upper floors of the building and has developed its own system of cargo or rope.
