About the Conference • Annual Meeting held in Omaha and Lincoln on alternating years, in the fall • Brings together University science faculty and businesses in Nebraska • Provides the opportunity for researchers to hear from distinguished speakers and exchange ideas • Provides the opportunity for college students to showcase their research and interact with researchers and business leaders

Sessions from the 2007 Conference: • Industry-Academic Partnerships & Research Collaborations • Expanding Boundaries in Academia & Industry • Bioinformatics • Cell Wall Penetration • Business Plan Development • Intellectual Property • Workforce Development • Risk Management • Developing Risk Mentality

  4. Teacher and Student Participation • 10 teacher/student teams will attend the Conference and a second day including visits to local research universities • $150 provided to teacher/school district to offset the costs for substitute teachers and travel (2 days) • Teacher/school district may bring up to three students (two minimum) to the conference. • One student spot open to school’s choice • Second and third student spots must be minority students or potential first generation students

  5. Application Process • Teachers will competitively apply to attend the conference each fall • Participating teachers/school districts will competitively recruit student participants once teachers are notified of selection
