    13. 1. Automobiles and Parts Industry I. Industrial Profile As the first pillar industry in Shenyang, automobiles industry has been developing rapidly in recent years. Shenyang has got seven finished automobile manufacturers to the end of 2008, 157 specialized vehicles, engines and partsmanufacturers, the gross output reached 46 billion yuan, growth of 80% over the previous year. Shenyang plans to increase the design productivity to 1.17 millions, and manufacture 920,000 automobiles in 2010. Dadong District is a core area of Shenyang automobile industry. The new-factory project of Brilliance has been started; The Phase? project of Shanghai GM Beisheng will be put into practice by this year. The expansion project of Brilliance JINBEI is being prepared to construct Dozens of auto parts enterprises such as Dekesimir, Hecang huabao Safety Air-bag and Yanfeng Visteon, etc.
