  35. Program Results • Completed 39 Irrigation Projects, with 50 more projects in various phases of implementation

  36. Program Results • Increased irrigated area by 7,557 has., from 31,729 has in 1995 to 39,286 has. In 1999

  37. Program Results • Increased average corn production from 1.93 MT/ha. in 1995 to 2.95 MT/ha. in 1999.

  38. Program Results • Increased the number of carabaos dispersed from 350 heads in 1995 to 1,070 heads in 1999.

  39. Program Results • Placed 80 full-time scholars in 9 different universities and colleges throughout the country.

  40. Program Results • Conducted 93 Farmer Field Schools (attended by 2,010 farmer-participants)

  41. Program Results • Established strong partnerships and cost-sharing arrangements (D.A., ARSP, Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., Care-Philippines, Rotary Club of Bacolod, People’s Organizations)

  42. Program Results • Increased average rice production from 2.72 MT/ha. In 1995 to 3.11 MT/ha. by the end of 1999 • Increased effective rice area from 81,480 has. in 1995 to 110,000 has. in 1999

Overall Results • Increase in income of farmers by 20% to 69% depending on the kind of livelihood assistance provided by the program • Increase in total rice production from 222,000 MT in 1995 to 344,444 MT in 1999 • Reduction of Malnutrition from 13.62% prevalence rate of underweight pre-school children in 1995 to 9.11% by the end of 1999
