  1. Robotic Surgery Taking Surgery Beyond the Limits of the Human Hand…

  2. What is Robotic Surgery? • Robotic surgery is a method of perform surgery using very small tools attached to a robotic arm. The surgeon controls the robotic arm with a computer. • It is similar to laparoscopic surgery.

  3. Robotic Surgery used to Treat • Coronary artery bypass • Gallbladder removal • Hip replacement • Hysterectomy • Kidney removal • Kidney transplant • Mitral valve repair • Radical prostatectomy • Radical cystectomy • Tubal ligation

  4. Types of Robotic Systems • DaVinci Surgical System : Davinci is the one of the most advanced Surgical robot in the world. Davinci’s miniaturized instruments are mounted on three separate robotic arms, allowing the surgeon maximum range of motion and precision. The DaVinci’s fourth arm contains a magnified high-definition 3-D camera that guides the surgeon during the procedure.

  5. 2. ZEUS Robotic Surgical System : The ZEUS Surgical System is made up of an ergonomic surgeon control console and three table-mounted robotic arms, which perform surgical tasks and provide visualization during endoscopic surgery.

  6. 3. AESOP Robotic System : The AESOP system employs the assistance of the Automated Endoscopic System for optical position. AESOP was the first robot to be cleared by FDA for assisting surgery in the operating room.

  7. During Surgery • The surgeon sits at a computer station and directs the movements of a robot. Small surgical tools are attached to the robot's arms. • The surgeon makes small cuts to insert the instruments into the body. • A thin tube with a camera attached to the end of it (endoscope) allows the surgeon to view enlarged 3-D images of the body as the surgery is taking place. • The robot matches the doctor's hand movements to perform the procedure using the tiny instruments.

  8. Pre-op Precautions • Do not take any food or fluid for 8 hours before the surgery. • Need to cleanse the bowels with an enema or laxative the day before surgery for some types of procedures. • Stop taking aspirin, blood thinners, anti-inflammatory medicines, vitamins, or other supplements 10 days before the procedure.

  9. Risks associated with Robotic Surgery • Reactions to medicines • Breathing problems • Bleeding • Infection

  10. Why choose Robotic Surgery? • Faster recovery • Less pain and bleeding • Less risk of infection • Shorter hospital stay • Smaller scars Would you like to Ask a question from our expert? Email us : info@deepammeditours.com Call us: +91-9810085065
