  3. The importance of preparation… • Finding information before our arrival…. • reading newspapers , magazines, And… more and more….. • going on the web ! ! Companies have many reasons to offer an internship : • improving the company image • making students aware of the working world • having a role of education and training • fulfilling a special task

  4. How to apply ? The best way is • By e-mail, with a short but convincing presentation of your request (+ attaching your cover letter and CV / + portfolio ?) • By letter (less efficient ?) Then…. • after 1 week, send a reminder by mail… or….

  5. …. Phone !!! A very useful tool … • 1 week following your application : to call the company (ask for the recruiter) • Prepare your speech : clearly defined objectives, dates of the internship, of first meeting, hours etc… • Before sending your application : • to get the name of the recruiter

  6. The first impression… The first 20 seconds • The first 20 words • The first 20 gestures • 20 centimeters Like when you meet a client…
