  2. Like all rechargeable electronics, laptop batteries also lose their ability of holding a full charge. Generally batteries provide a predetermined number of charging cycles and it keep on losing a minute portion of their charging. As the battery is fitted unused within a computer system, running off the AC adapter and then system heats up. The heated the device gets quickly it discharges the battery. Device’s battery is in continuous state of charging and discharging when it is inside the laptop while constantly running of AC power.

  3. First of all disconnect the AC adapter from the computer system. Now, run the Dell device solely on battery power. Until the computer turns off let the power unit drains itself completely. • Keep the device turned off for next 10-15 minutes. Don’t link the device to AC power in this duration. • After 15 minutes, press power button for turning your Dell laptop on. You are not required to connect the device with AC power till now. Let the system again turn itself off, which will be in next 10 minutes till the battery drains completely.

  4. With the battery inside the system plug the laptop into AC power. You can check whether the power unit is fully charged by seeing the power unit indicator from the System Tray, available in the lower right side corner of the system’s display screen. Till the indicator appears full, charge the battery for next 30 minutes more. From then repeat the whole process thrice, for several days so that the Dell laptop power unit will be fully reconditioned. You can download a laptop battery monitoring application for tracking the battery’s charging and discharging cycles with its performance.
