  2. STAFF You know what pitches (note names) to play based on where they are on the STAFF.

  3. STAFF Each line and space is a different note. ** IT GOES IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER **

  4. CLEF! • Each instrument has their own CLEF, so you can tell it is YOUR part! • The CLEF tells you where your alphabet starts. • There are 3 clefs.

  5. VIOLINS ONLY (violas and cellos…this isn’t for you!)

  6. Violins, what is this??

  7. The TREBLE clef (also known as the G clef) And your clef is….

  8. You can tell which pitch to play based on where the note is on the staff.

  9. Each line and space is a different note.

  10. RAISE YOUR HAND….. When you can name the note that appears…. (don’t forget that it goes in alphabetical order)

  11. VIOLAS ONLY (violins and cellos…this isn’t for you!)

  13. The ALTO clef (also known as the C clef) And your clef is….
