  3. Aukštaitija National Park is in north-eastern Lithuania, about 100 km north of Vilnius. • Established in 1974, it is the oldest of the five national parks. • 59% of all Lithuania’s native plant species were found in the park. • The park is famous for clean lakes, and ethnographic villages. There are 126 lakes in the park.

  4. Dzūkija National Parkin the southeast of Lithuania is covered by a dense forest. It is a popular place to gather berries and mushrooms. This park is the largest protected area in Lithuania (697 km2).

  5. Žemaitija National Park is situated on Žemaičių Highlands, 45 km from the Baltic Sea. Lakes cover more than 7% of its territory. • Lake Plateliai (12.05 km², 47 m depth) is the largest lake. This is an interesting place for people who like natural environment, and activities like cycling, diving, fishing, bird watching…

  6. The Trakainational park is dedicated to the historically important Trakai town rather than scenery. There are a lot of lakes in this national park.
