  4. Computers are for RESEARCH PURPOSES • Only one person per computer unless the librarian has given special permission. • Please let the librarian know if you need to print. • Return the computer to the “Desktop” when you have finished working. COMPUTER USAGE-

  5. Online Card Catalog Students and faculty may access books in the NSHS library by using the automated card catalog, OPAC(Online Public Access Catalog). Click on the link below to take a look: http://library/opac/northsidehs/index.html#menuHome Search options include: • Basic search: Simply type in a title, author’s name (last name first), subject, or call number in the search box, and press the enter key. • Combo search: This search can narrow your results by combining Author, Title, and/or Subject searches • Expert search: You can perform complex searches using the Boolean operators described above to join up to three search terms. This allows you to generate more precise results. • Media search: You can search by Keyword and Material Type, such as eBook or DVD. • Visual search: Simply click an image. If a page with additional images appears, continue selecting pictures until you receive a results list.
