  1. The Leading Causes of Tooth Loss in Adults Today

  2. Periodontal Disease Gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) is caused due to poor oral hygiene. It occurs due to plaque buildup along the gums, which is not brushed away.

  3. Calcium Deficiency Insufficient intake of Calcium can lead to unhealthy teeth and bones. It can eventually result in early loss of teeth. This occurs when the body feels the need to release more Calcium and may break the bone to do so.

  4. Trauma One of the common causes of tooth loss is mouth injury. Although it is common among children, it is not unheard of the case of adults. Adults who play sports are prone to it.

  5. Not Going for Check ups Often Enough Regular dental check-ups are vital for maintaining healthy teeth. 3 or 6 monthly checkups help catch dental issues at the early stages.
