  2. Word DecodingIt is extremely useful to understand that words often contain smaller pieces that have certain meanings. Memorizing as many prefixes, root words, and suffixes as you can will help develop your “code book” that will increase your reading comprehension and vocabulary understanding.

  3. PrefixesPrefixes help to form larger words, but are not words by themselves. PREFIXES come at the BEGINNING of words, and they usually have one specific meaning.

Sometimes root words have different meanings, and they can come at the beginning, middle, or end of longer words.

Suffixes are extremely useful in helping you figure out the part of speech of a word.
