  2. 10) Torque the pumps The pumps should be tightened about once a month. If a new pump is installed, the pump should be initially tightened and then re-torqued one week later. The torque specification is 70 in.-lbs. This is about hand tight with a wrench. Use 7/16” nut driver. Torque from bolt head. This is on the side of the air inlet. Tighten all 6 bolts. Use a ½” wrench. Torque both sides Tighten ALL bolts and nuts.

  3. 9) Tighten all hose clamps and connections. Check hose clamps on chemical Inlets and machine outlets. Check hose clamps on inlets and outlets of all pumps. Check connections at drum wands.

  4. 8) Drain / inspect the air filter. Place a rag underneath the air filter. Press the button at the bottom of the air filter. This will drain the water & oil from the filter. If the filter element is completely saturated with oil, it should be replaced. Replacement element- Part# AELES-AFM30P-060AS

  5. 7) Check Flush Water Check the temperature of flush water. It should be between 70-110 deg F. Chemicals should be maintained at a fairly constant temperature close to this range. Hot water followed by cold chemical will cause the manifold to expand and then contract. This can cause damage to the plastic manifold. Check and clean the screen on the strainer for the flush water. This is located on the back of the system.

  6. 6) Inspect the delivery lines to the washers • Make sure the deliver lines are not kinked or collapsed. • Check the connection at the point of entry into the washer for signs of being clogged. • These items can cause excessive back pressure on the system causing it to have poor delivery times. If the back-pressure is high enough, it may cause valves to leak.

  7. 5) Update PulseNet You can download the latest version of PulseNet from the web. Upgrading is simple and all of the data from your current site will be preserved The version number of PulseNet can be found in the top left corner of the main screen.

  8. Updating PulseNet Procedure To update PulseNet, do the following: Go to www.softrol.net, Click on Tech Site. This will take you to the service page. Enter your user name and password. If you do not have a user name, then you need to register as a user. This is in the upper left hand corner. Select downloads from the top menu. From this select PulseNet Products. The files you will need to download are: Pwpm32.exe Setup.exe Read me.txt Save these files to your computer in a single folder. If you need to transfer them to the PulseNet computer, you will need to burn a CD or use portable memory. The files will take up about 6 Mb. If you have questions about the install, view the Read Me.txt file.

  9. Updating PulseNet Procedure Before you update the computer, make a site back-up of PulseNet and store it in a safe location. Once these files are transferred to the PulseNet computer, you will need to run the Setup.exe file. Make sure that the Pwpm32.exe file is in the same folder. This will begin installation process. Follow the installation process until it asks you to select the components to install. The components to install are: System files Data Access components (if you are not running Windows XP or 2000) PulseNet Modules All the other components should be left unchecked. Once it has installed the system files, the program will ask which PulseNet module to install. Select Chemical Injection. This is important, if Wet Process is selected, you key will probably not work. The software will then check for previously installed components.

  10. Updating PulseNet Procedure When this is complete, it will suggest a destination. This should be C:\PCIM Let the software install here . When this is complete, the software will ask you if you want a new icon on the desktop. If you are upgrading from PCPM, you will need a new icon. If you are upgrading from PCIM, select “No Thanks” Restart the computer. Check the software for the new version. If you have difficulty with this, view the Read Me.txt file.

  11. 4) Inspect gears and o-ring The flow meter cover should not be removed unless it is required. Steps can be taken to prevent the situations in which disassembly of the meter is required.- Strainers on the chemical pick-up lines should be used where possible. Starch and Flextra generally cannot be used with strainers. Also, Drums and tanks should be changed or refilled beforethey become empty. This will help reduce the amount of foreign particles in the bottom of the drums and tanks that enter in the system. Finally, the back flush (5 & ENT) should be used several times before the meter is disassembled. Check for wear on hubs of the gears. The O-ring should be replaced if it is flattened or shows kinks or cuts. Generally a Teflon O-ring should be replaced after it has been open a few times. The O-ring is a standard 036 PTFE O-ring.   12. 3) Clean The System The Catalyst is designed to be occasionally washed down. Care should be taken not to get water on the electronics box or air box. These should be wiped with a damp cloth instead. Wash down system here. “A clean system is a happy system”- Anonymous

  13. 2) Check Calibrations • The calibrations should be checked periodically and only calibrated when needed. The factors that can affect the calibration are: • Fluctuations in temperature • Changing the meter cover or gears • Excessive tightening of the meter cover.
