  1. Volume of pyramids, cones, and spheres By: Daisy Luna, Noah Lusk, Othello Jimenez

  2. Volume of pyramids You might only think of pyramids ancient monuments, but there really used in modern day life, we are going to learn how to find there volume in today’s lesson.

  3. Formula • The formula for pyramids are easily found. You take 1/3 of the area of the base times the height. • Here are some Example: 2 times 2 times 3

  4. Example 1 • First you multiply 2 by 2 to get the area of the base which is 4 • Then you multiply 4 times 3 for area of the base times the height which would be 12 as the volume.

  5. Example 2 • Now work this one out on you're paper

  6. answer • 5 multiplied by five would be 25 • 25 multiplied by 6 • 150 is the volume

  7. Volume of cones Kind of like pyramids, you can find cones the same way as pyramids. Just 1/3 of base times height.

  8. Types of cones • There are mostly just the typical type of cone. Flat bottom and a triangle top makes it seem like it will be very hard to find the volume, but as long as you break it down it’s a piece of cake.

  9. Process • 1stoff you will need to find the radius of the bottom circle. Next you will need to measure the height of the cone. • Vcone= 1/3 × pi × r2× h is the prime formula for the cone.

  10. Examples • The base of the radius of the circle is 5cm. • The height of the cone is 10cm.
