President – Rino Satorxs5071 Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Update: 9,000+ people confirmed dead 15,000+ people still missing 380,000+ people in shelters SRCC, the Japanese Friendship Association, and the other service organizations have raised about $13,000+ for the fund. Thank you!!

President – Rino Satorxs5071 Newspaper Initiative The clubs of the Council of Lionhearts are partaking in a newspaper initiative, where we will pick up all of the newspaper left behind in buildings and showcase it in front of the HUB to show how much newspaper is unrecycled. The Red Cross club was paired with Student United Way to volunteer on: • Tuesday, April 5th • Thursday, April 7th Meet at 7pm in front of Sackett.It should only take 30-45 minutes, so sign up on the volunteer website if you want to help out!

  7. President – Rino Satorxs5071 • Over the weekend, Christine, Wendi, and I went to National Headquarters in DC for the Club Hub Pilot Meeting • 6 selected clubs across the nation (UCLA, USF, Berkley, Nebraska, UW, and us!!) • As the Club Hub, we will be helping newer clubs grow

VP – Julie Ageejca5051 Relay for Life We are making a difference by teaming up to participate in the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life*Friday-Saturday, April 8th-9th (5pm-5pm) At the event, our team will camp out overnight and take turns walking around the track to raise money and awareness to help the American Cancer Society create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. Please join our team or make a donation. The impact we can make together is much greater than what any of us could do alone! E-mail Julie ASAP if interested in joining a team and she will contact you with instructions on how to sign up!

  12. THON – Mark McCuen & Erica Friel [srccftk@gmail.com ] Blue and White Weekend!April 16th - We'll spend the morning and afternoon tailgating with our favorite families, the Hecks and Angi! Easter with the Angi!April 23-24 - We'll be spending the weekend at the Angus family home! Our annual traditions include cookout, laser tag, easter egg hunt, and Angi kickball. Possibly will do a day trip on Saturday if enough interest is expressed.

  13. Education – Naila Rahmannur5000 Classroom Announcements We need help with classroom announcements! Please see if you are in any of these classes or if you are available at any of these times! You get a whole volunteer hour for 2 minutes of work, and what you have to say is already written out for you!!!

Fundraising – Mike Jenmaj214 Spaghetti Dinner Wednesday, April 6th 5-8pm We are holding our annual all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner at Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church on 208 W Foster Ave. Tickets will cost $5 and can be bought from me after the meeting, at the door, or during office hours at our HUB office (221C). The tickets have numbers on them and I'm asking that you try to take some and sell them to your friends/roommates (come talk to me after the meeting). We will be serving salad, spaghetti, meatballs, sauce, cheese biscuits, bread, and assorted desserts. We will be setting up and starting to make meatballs starting at 9am and cleaning up after the dinner until 9pm, so please sign up to help.

  15. Health & Safety – Christine Thebergemwt5073 Operation: Military Kids Sunday, April 3. 12pm-4pm. Penn State Recreation Park and Tourism Management is hosting Operation: Military Kids, Salute to the Military Child. The event is a community information fair, including food, games, and music. We are looking for people to help and out flyers and help in First Aid demonstrations. If you’d like to help out, please sign up on the website. AED Health Fair Thursday, April 5. AED is hosting the Fifth Annual Public Health Fair order to promote public health. Many local and regional organizations will be attending, putting on demos and handing out free stuff (including FREE MASSAGES)! If you have a free hour to come out and help hand out flyers, sign up on the website. HUB Sign-Up Tables We will be having sign up tables for CPR classes in the HUB. If you’d like to help get the word out about how people can be trained to save a life, sign up on the website.
