  1. Farewell to Jennifer After three years with De Anza, we said goodbye to Jennifer who accepted a promotion to San Diego.

  2. Introducing Jim Klingensmith • Jim has been with Gilbane for 20 years • His previous project was SJSU's new library. The facility is 480,000 SF, has a budget of $107M, and will encompass eight stories. Features include a public plaza, and a cafe and gift shop.

  3. Pool • Renovations began at the end of summer school last year

  4. Work included the re-plastering and re-tiling of the pools, replacement of supply and return piping, installation of new surge tanks, upgrading of the deck, as well as the purchase of new diving boards and starting blocks.

  5. This was a $1.6 million project

  6. The pool was completed at the end of March

  7. Science Center • Work is progressing well on this project

  8. The Science Center is on schedule for completion by April 04 and should be online for fall quarter 04

  9. The complex comprises one and two story buildings with a total of 46,000 SF of space. The project budget is $20 million

  10. We hope to obtain State furniture and equipment funding for this building, from the November 03 State Bond

  11. CDC Wing A • This was the first phase of the two-phase renovation of the old CDC building.

  12. Renovations started in fall 2002 and were completed in winter 2003

  13. CDC Wing B • Renovations began in March & will be completed in time for the fall quarter • The budget for this project is $600,000

  14. L 2 • Work commenced on L2 in January 03 and should be complete by the end of April this year

  15. Once L2 is complete and the classrooms have moved back from the Mod Quad, renovations to L3 will begin
