  4. Role/Responsibilities of the SIG Coordinator • Abide by the Bylaws and policies of ONS • Develop and monitor Strategic Plan • Communication • Conducting Business • Leadership Development (Section IV)

  5. Bylaws and Policies of ONS & SIG • Bylaws – online http://www.ons.org/membership/bylaws.shtml • SIG Policies – Quick Reference Sheet (Section II)

  6. Communication • Three newsletters per year (Section XI) • Read materials that are sent/e-mailed to you and take appropriate action • Communicate with your leadership & membership (Section V) • Communicate with the National Office • Identify issues, problems, concerns

  7. Conducting Business • Utilize the SIG Policy & Procedure Manual • SIG Planning/Networking Meeting at Congress (Section VI) • Publish agenda for the meeting • Complete Annual Report (Section IV) • Record Minutes • Update National Office on projects

  8. Conducting Business • Transfer SIG documentation when leaving office • Solicit input from your membership (strategic plan, activities, project, etc.) • Review and update strategic plan annually (Section VIII) • Serve as a member of the SIG Council • Serve as a SIG Council workgroup member/chair

  9. Leadership Development • Attend ONS Leadership training session • Develop member participation through delegation • Appoint and terminate SIG workgroups • Help fill vacancies in SIG leadership • Mentor future SIG leaders • Assist the Nominating Committee in recruiting candidates for SIG elections (Section VII)

  10. Leadership Development • Develop a succession plan to recruit future leaders • Serve as an Ex-Officio the year following term as Coordinator
