Draw a line across your T.o.C to signify we are starting back to page 1 • If you have a new book, skip 5 pages and on the Left side number your book 1 and on the Right side number page 2 • On Page 2 (Right Side) is Called the “Teacher Side” • Here is the "how-to" side.  When you are trying to look up information or remember how to do something this will always be on the right sides. • The right side will be for CN, or any other teacher stuff I give you in the beginning Composition Book

  3. On Page 1 (Left Side) is called the “Activity Side” • Here is where you are placing any activity work, from the stations (Direct Instruction, Small Groups, Individual) you travel to during the period. Composition Book

In CN style writeReview of expectations for Second Semester: • Start of Class: • Come in Quietly and ready to Begin Do Now • 3 Sharpened Pencils ready to use • Be In your seat reading White Board and NO QUESTIONS DURING DO NOW • During Class: • Stay in your seat and raise your hand at all times! • No calling out • Stay on Task at all times • End of Class: • Wait for instruction to clean up • Every student needs to pick up 5 pieces of trash • FAILURE TO ABIDE BY RULES AND EXPECTATIONS WILL RESULT IN CONSEQUENCES!!   9. What does SMART stand for? S- specific M- measurable A- attainable R-realistic T-timely SMART GOAL NOTES

  10. A specific goal has a much greater chance of being accomplished than a general goal. To set a specific goal you must answer the five “W” questions: • *Who:      Who is involved? • *What:     What do I want to accomplish? • *Where:    Identify a location. • *When:     Establish a time frame. • *Why:      Specific reasons, purpose or benefits of accomplishing the goal. • EXAMPLE:  A general goal would be, “Get in shape.” But a specific goal would say, “Join a health club and workout 3 days a week.” S-Specific

  11. Establish concrete criteria for measuring progress toward the attainment of each goal you set. • To determine if your goal is measurable, ask questions such as…… • How much? How many? • How will I know when it is accomplished? M-Measurable

  12. Plan your steps wisely and establish a time frame that allows you to carry out those steps. • When you list your goals you build your self-image. • You see yourself as worthy of these goals, and develop the traits and personality that allow you to possess them. A-Attainable

  13. Agoal must represent an objective toward which you are both willing and able to work. But be sure that every goal represents substantial progress. • Your goal is realistic if you truly believe that it can be accomplished! R-Realistic

  14. A goal should be grounded within a time frame. With no time frame tied to it there’s no sense of urgency. • Set Up smaller goals as steps to your SMART Goal! • For Example: • I want to earn a Proficient on BM3. • By the end of Greece and India Units, I will turn in most (if not all) of my work and score proficient or better on my quizzes to show progress towards BM3 T-Timely

  15. Create a SMART Goal using your Notes to help you • Draw a Picture to show your SMART Goal • Write out 3-5 steps to achieve your goal SMART Goal Activity: Exit Ticket (needs to be stamped)
