The Class of 2017. The Road to Graduation BHS CTAE Elective Registration. What is a credit/unit?. Each high school class you take and PASS has value. This value is called a CREDIT. For example, an Elective class at the high school is worth ONE CREDIT.

  2. What is a credit/unit? • Each high school class you take and PASS has value. • This value is called a CREDIT. • For example, an Elective class at the high school is worth ONE CREDIT.

  4. What are Electives? • Courses that students choose for themselves. • These are similar to your connections classes.

  5. Elective Requirements • Required means you MUST take 3 (credits) specific electives that you choose from a list of courses. • These courses usually reflect a CAREER INTEREST.

  6. What is a Career Pathway? Is a coherent, articulated sequence of rigorous academic and career/technical courses, usually beginning in the 9th grade and leading to a diploma, associate degree, or baccalaureate degree and beyond.

  7. What is a Career Pathway? • CAREER PATHWAYS are required electives. • CAREER PATHWAYS represent a plan of study aligned with your: SELF-SELECTED CAREER GOAL.
