API SC-16 Task Group 2 • Specification 16D • Control Systems for Drilling Well Control Equipment and Control Systems for Diverter Equipment • Chair – Brian Wright • Co-Chair – Maynard Chance • Currently on Second Edition published in June 2004 and reaffirmed June 2010. • Document is currently under review. Target date for initial ballot is 4th Qtr. of 2013.

API SC-16 Task Group 2 • Specification 16D • Control Systems for Drilling Well Control Equipment and Control Systems for Diverter Equipment • Meetings held this year: • Winter Standards Conference Jan. 22nd 2013 • June 5th Full Task Group Meeting • Working group Meetings for Electrical/Software–Six meetings. • Next full task group meeting is July 16th. • Next Electrical/Software meeting is July 10th.

API SC-16 Task Group 2 • Specification 16D • Control Systems for Drilling Well Control Equipment and Control Systems for Diverter Equipment • Open Issues: • Finalize Accumulator FVR requirements based on worst well control scenario. • Continue work on Electrical/Software sections. • Incorporate SC18 welding gap analysis into document. • Develop details required for secondary systems.
