EXAMPLE Hades • Personality: greedy, unpitying, terrible • Ruler of the underworld/dead; god of wealth • Son of Cronus and Rhea • Wife: Persephone • Children: Furies Hades abducted his bride, realizing that she would not want to be with him in the underworld. When her mother found out about this, she cast death upon the world until her daughter was returned. Because Persephone had tasted the fruit of the underworld, she was forced to be with Hades for half of the year.
