  3. What is Smile ? Smile is a PC based operator console solution. It combines the call processing power of the PBX with the information and storage power of a PC. It provides a directory database and rich graphical user interface for easy call handling. Smile runs on a Windows platform and has been specially designed for the Nortel CS1000.   5. Busy Lamp Field The BLF (Busy Lamp Field) provides the status of the internal phone sets. At any moment the operator knows the status of the looked up person and thus is able to handle correctly the incoming call. (Do it right the first time). Product Presentation

It can also synchronize its own common data (name, department, extensions, ...) with an LDAP Directory Server. Eliminate redundant tasks. No need to maintain multiple database.   8. Send e-mail • The operator can send an e-mail to the selected person in his local directory. • To send the e-mail, smile will use the ‘Preferred mail client’ defined in Internet Explorer. • Available in the Smile Premium package. Product Presentation

  9. Personal Notes • The Personal Note facility allows users to update their personal note by sending an e-mail to Smile. This personal note will appear automatically when the Smile operator will select the record of the user.   10. Personal Notes • The Personal Note facility allows users to update their personal note by sending an e-mail to Smile. This personal note will appear automatically when the Smile operator will select the record of the user. • The subject of the e-mail may contain the Personal Note expiration date. After that date, the personal note will be automatically deleted. • A reply can be automatically generated to advice the user that his personal notes has been successfully updated. • It interacts with the most popular e-mail system using the POP3 and SMTP protocol.
