  17. ISHHC XVII: Goals The ISHHC XVII will follow the tradition of the organization and topics in the series of the preceding ISHHC conferences, bringing together experts and practitioners in the three fields of heterogeneous, homogeneous and enzyme catalysis based on recent advances in instrumentation, synthesis and reaction studies on the molecular level. To further this goal we aim to uncover and focus on common concepts that emerge from molecular-nanoscale studies of structures, functions and dynamics of the three types of catalysts.

  18. ISHHC XVII: Program outline • Follow trusted format • Single main session + dedicated embedded mini-symposia • Plenary, invited and oral lectures • Some orals reserved for young scientists • Possibilities for sponsored lectures or young lecturer prize-giving events • Three poster sessions • Conference banquet

  19. Embedded mini-symposia • Examplesinclude: • Biomassvalorization: Catalysis in the liquid phase • Methanevalorization: Catalytic C-H activation • Characterizationmethods • … “Opportunities and challenges of single-molecule and single-particle techniques for catalysis research“ • Idea & Motivation • novel microscopy approaches forcatalysisresearch • bring together pioneersofthisfieldandnewcomers • spark more scientists to join • show interested scientists outside community power of techniques Potential co-organizers Suzanne Blum (Irvine, USA) Thorben Cordes (Groningen, NL)
