Public Health Code • Act 368 of 1978 – Part 135 • The law giving RSS authority • Establishes registration, fees, and provisions for administrative rules • Draft updates planned • X-ray operator training • Allow future non-ionizing device rules (laser, tanning, etc.) MDCIS - Radiation Safety Section

  4. Ionizing Radiation Rules • Part 4 – Registration • Register, pay fee, apply tags, post certificate • Vendor Obligation: “Rule 195. (3) A person shall not make, sell, lease, transfer, lend, assemble, or install radiation machines….unless the equipment….meets the requirements of these rules.” MDCIS - Radiation Safety Section
