NEXT STEPS NH: College, Career & Life Ready • The New Hampshire Department of Education, Bureau of Special Education has been awarded a $3.8 million State Personnel Development Grant from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs for the next 5 years. The grant will focus on developing and sustaining the skills of New Hampshire school district personnel and families to increase the number of students with disabilities graduating from high school that are college and career ready. The grant will focus on four strategies to achieve this goal: (1) increasing student competency through our state Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs), regional professional development intermediaries, a transition Community of Practice, and the use of technology. • For more information please contact Donna Couture, Project Coordinator at (603) 271-1536 or Donna.Couture@doe.nh.gov

State Advisory Committee (SAC) on the Education of Students with Disabilities • Meets the first Wednesday of each month • Meeting time: 4:30 – 6:30pm • Location: NHDOE, Room 15 • Does not meet in July and August • Renea Sparks, Director of Special Services for SAU #39, is the special education representative member • Bonnie Dunham is the current Chairman of SAC All are welcome!
