Effective Missions • It should be the one thing that every person in the organization should know • Easy to recite • Clear and concise, it is the school districts purpose • It will focus our efforts and resources on district initiatives, budget, curriculum, staffing and student learning • Represents our uniqueness • Bold declaration of what the district will be

  12. Draft: Mission Statement • Define and analyze common themes from the brainstorming activity • Using the common ideas from the previous activity, each group will create a draft mission statement(s) • Regroup and share mission with others
