Goal #1 • Goal 1: Students will understand the components of the five major world religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism) and the political, social, and economic impacts each religion has had on world history and culture. • Objectives: Students will demonstrate the ability to: • 1. Describe major characteristics/core beliefs of the five major religions. • 2. Identify the geographic regions impacted by each of the five major religions • 3. Describe the impact of the five major world religions on the regions in which they  developed. • 4. Compare differences and similarities between the five major world religions. • 5. Analyze the current global social, political, and social issues impacted/precipitated by the five major world religions.

Goal #2 • Goal 2: Students will identify and evaluate their own personal biases regarding the five major world religions in order to gain greater personal understanding and growth. • Objectives: Students will demonstrates the ability to: • 1. Identify their own personal biases regarding the five major world religions. • 2. Evaluate their own personal biases regarding the five major world religions. • 3. Synthesize unit understandings into a new evaluation of personal worldviews.
