  1. The Future of LCD Video Walls Introduction There is one technology that ruled everything out when it comes to large-screen indoor displays and video walls - LCD flat-screen panels. Nevertheless, that seems to be changing rapidly. As LCD video walls continue to grow rapidly, various features that were considered futuristic once are now becoming more dominant. Just like the rest of the world of digital signage, LCD video wall displays are highly likely to keep evolving at a rapid pace. But with new, more affordable fine-pitch direct-view LED signboards being introduced in the market, large LCD video wallsand panels may have met their replacement. Read further to understand the world of video walls and signages. LCD Video Walls The main reason why traditional video panels, made up of distinct LCD panels with thin bezels and grames, became popular because they have been an affordable, reasonable-quality way to do video and information displays in huge sizes. They can be seen in almost every newscast, in shopping mall displays, as control and command centre dashboards, hotel lobbies and even lecture halls. The advanced video walls use LED panels as the light source behind the LCD glass. Hence, they are extremely dependable and their bezel thickness is rather slender. Disadvantages Of LCD Video Walls 1. Smaller signage’sand video walls such as a 2 x 2-panel configuration can now be done with a single, cost-efficient LCD panel. 2. Each panel in the LCD video walls has to be calibrated and re-calibrated consistently to balance colour and brightness uniformity. 3. Irrespective of how small the bezel width between the LCD panels, even then it can cause a break in the image and a visual distraction in the message.

  2. 4. The moment you switch to a panel larger than 3 x 3-panel configuration, the fine pitch of the panel will not be able to be used and it is not even required because most LCD video wall displaysare designed to be viewed from a distance. 5. Usually, video walls are very directional. Brightness, colour and contrast fall off except when you are directly in the centre and front of the display. Fine-Pitch Direct-View LED Video Displays Direct-view LEDs have been in the market for quite some time now. Nonetheless, it has been until now that fine-pitch indoor-viewing LED panels have become easier on the pocket. Everyone is familiar with outdoor direct-view LED screens. A lot of you must have seen them as huge stadium replay screens, electronic billboards and those immensely large video screens in Times Square. The outdoor LED screens are colourful, bright and have extraordinary contrasts. But if you go closer, it appears to be very pixelated. That is because the outdoor direct-view LEDs are made to be seen only from a distance. The Future of LCD Video Walls 1. Video Walls Everywhere They may not be everywhere but LCD video wallsare probably going to keep growing popularity, especially as screen prices fall. This means that an LCD video wall displayis not only in reach for your higher-end customers but even corporate offices, small retail shops and educational campuses will want to invest in LCD video wall technology. 2. Advanced Motion Detection Video walls nowadays can already integrate motion control, allowing the end user to connect with elements on the screen using the movement of their arms or even the entire body. But the LCD video wallsin future will take motion detection a step forward with better-tuned tracking abilities. This will allow users to communicate with the video walls using their hand gestures. 3. All-In-One Displays This feature is already in the works. Imagine a single large screen that can display an advertisement or a film, social media feeds, weather reports, stock tickets and anything that your clients look for. As video walls advance, these abilities will get even more affordable and seamless. To Sum It Up!

  3. In the future, new software may be introduced in the market that can measure the reactions of the people to different contents using facial detection technology. The screens may also include voice analytics to listen and understand particular keywords as well as feedbacks. In the evolving world of smart technologies, it is only a matter of a few years before LCD video walls receive some new and advanced layers of intelligence.
