CMDI interoperability Utrecht 2013-06-04 www.clarin.eu Metadata curation • When is curation needed? • Advances in (metadata) infrastructure development • CMDI 1.0 -> 1.1 • CMDI 1.1 -> 1.2 (backwards compatibility?) • Revisions of code sets and vocabularies • Might require interaction with the depositor • E.g., a language code might be split in two or mode codes, which new code to apply? • CLARIN EU metadata curation ticket queue • ‘Metadata police’ filter • Who are responsible for metadata curation? • Each CLARIN center for the metadata it provides • Keep metadata up to date with technical requirements by the infrastructure • Interact with other centers in the metadata taskforce to steer developments • If needed and possible interaction with the depositor might be required to improve metadata quality
