  1. Data Checks October 2008

Purpose • To improve the data of the Student Records (Registry) Database (QL). • Correct students being taught on courses • Students who are attending have paid their fees • Students are timetabled correctly for examinations • Funding return for December, so the University gets the correct funding • Full backing of Senior Management

Contacts • Ql.training@cant.ac.uk – Problems with the procedure and use of the reporting software • records@canterbury.ac.uk – Will contact the data checker concerning specific issues • data.management@canterbury.ac.uk - If you are missing modules, or they have no students attached. • Other issues should be directed to your Faculty Quality Officer

  4. Checks • Checks should be carried out during the Week beginning 10th November and not before. This is when student records will be up to date. • Check down to Module level. • Span should be 12 weeks, i.e. Only changes since the last data check will show. • This means that if a department reported the withdrawal of a student in the last 12 weeks, and everything else is the same. The department would only need to confirm that this student has withdrawn.
