Attitudes of the Chosen1 Peter 2:9-10 9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

  3. Attitudes of the Chosen Christians are special to God. Peter states this in 4 ways: Chosen generation Royal priesthood Holy nation Special people

  4. Attitudes of the Chosen Be Proactive

  5. Be Proactive Proactive – acting before you are acted upon James 4:17 –Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. Matthew 25:31-46 – Those who were lost did not do evil, but failed to do good.

  6. Be Proactive Bible is full of Proactive language: Matthew 5:16 – Let your light so shine… Matthew 7:7-12 – Ask, Seek, Knock, Do… Matthew 22:37-39 – Love God and neighbor… Mark 11:24 – Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

  7. Attitudes of the Chosen Be Proactive Be Confident

  8. Be Confident Hebrews 13:6 – So we may boldly say: "The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?" Our confidence is to based on the Lord, NOT on man!!

  9. Be Confident Look at the Boldness in the Bible… Matthew 10:28 – And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Acts 4:29 – Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, Psalm 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.

  10. Attitudes of the Chosen Be Proactive Be Confident Be Humble

  11. Be Humble Humility prevents us from being over confident. Luke 9:48 – and said to them, "Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For he who is least among you all will be great."

  12. Be Humble The Bible talks about Humility Matthew 5:3 – "Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Hebrews 11:25 – choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, John 13:1-17

  13. Conclusion What are the Attitudes of the Chosen Generation? Proactivity Confidence Humility Are you part of the chosen generation?
