  1. Electives in Management & Organization

  2. Strategy Consulting Strategy Consultants provide a wide range of services to business. They identify managerial, institutional/system, industry, and global problems/challenges, perform in-depth quantitative and qualitative analyses, recommend and develop solutions, and assist in implementation. Time-constrained senior managers often rely on consultants to bring unbiased outside perspectives to problem solving. Recent economic developments and corporate trends have increased the number of consulting firms, and the rapid expansion of the Internet and the emergence of new technologies has added to the groundswell. Also, many companies are choosing to outsource activities previously performed internally. This trend, combined with corporate downsizing, has caused many former executives and recent B-school grads to join the ranks of consulting firms.

  6. Entrepreneurship – Venture Capital An entrepreneur is a person who exploits a perceived opportunity by means of establishing an organization. The entrepreneur is key to founding or leading of a new or young organization and whose business model involves some element of novelty. While their organizations do include traditional for-profits startups, entrepreneurial ventures also include social ventures and non-profits. Beyond the traditional challenges inherent in leading any organization, entrepreneurs face additional challenges in developing a viable strategy, establishing their ventures credibility, attracting key resources (employees, customers, and partners), and structuring the market (or sector) they participate in. Venture capitalists specialize in making investments in ventures and then mentoring those ventures in their growth and development. As investments are often made in very young ventures with minimal financial histories, the success of venture capital firms depends on their ability to accurately assess market opportunities, the analysis of venture strategies, and the assembling and mentoring of executive teams to lead ventures. Accordingly, venture capitalists require strong foundations in strategy, leadership and human capital, and finance.
