  1. Once opened in Google earth “Kelp Forest Distribution” can be found in “temporary places” (see orange circle)

  2. Double click on either “ as the world turns” video to play a tour of the global distribution of kelp forests (see orange circle) Once this video is cued, you can replay it by using the black guide bar in the lower left corner (see yellow circle)

  3. Click inside the circle besides “sea surface temperature” to open the ocean temperature layer (see orange circle) and replay video to show how temperature correlates with kelp forest distribution. Take the temperature layer off by unselecting the circle beside “sea surface temperature”.

  4. Double click “Historical Kelp in Barkley Sound” (see orange circle), this will zoom into the area around Bamfield to show that kelp forest distribution within its range is not continuous.
