  2. Purpose of Regional Meeting • Discuss regional business • Provide updates on OPTN/UNOS committee activities and projects • Discuss and comment on proposed policies and bylaws

  3. Regional Business • Summary of Fall 2014 regional meeting • Updated summary of Spring 2014 regional meeting • Includes sponsoring committee’s response to regional comments • Board action on each proposal

Regional Business • Reminder – shift in Policy Development Calendar • Allows for a 6 month period between Board meetings • Shorten public comment to 60 days • Proposals discussed today may be considered by the Board in June 2015 • Fall 2015: mid-August - mid-October • Fall meeting date: October 14, 2015 - Rochester

  5. 2015 OPTN/UNOS Committee Appointment Process • Nominations reviewed by Councillor and Associate Councillor • Recommendations for regional representatives submitted to Committee Chairs and President-Elect • March/April – Review Period • April 2015 – Committee appointments announced • July 2015 – Committee terms begin

  6. 2016 OPTN/UNOS Committee Openings • September 2015 - Call for nominations • MPSC Representative/Associate Councillor position

  7. Regional Meeting Agenda • Spring meeting agenda • 10 public comment proposals • 10 committee updates, some requiring regional discussion • Utilize non-discussion agenda format • Divide agenda into two sections, discussion and non-discussion

  8. Discussion Agenda • Discussion agenda format is the same as previous meetings • 7 public comment proposals • Presentation • Discussion • Regional Vote

Non-Discussion Agenda • Includes proposals anticipated to have a lower impact on the transplant community • Region was offered an opportunity to request that a proposal(s) be placed on the discussion agenda • None received • Proposals will be voted on today, but not presented or discussed • Proposals presented and discussed during national webinars

Non-Discussion Proposals: VoteYou have the option to abstain from voting if you haven’t reviewed the proposals • Proposal to Improve UNetsm Reporting of Aborted Procedures and Non-Transplanted Organs (Living Donor Committee) • Clarify Policy Language and Process for Individual Wait Time Transfer (Patient Affairs Committee) • Proposal to Collect Ex Vivo Lung Perfusion (EVLP) Data for Transplant Recipients (Thoracic Organ Transplantation Committee)

Public Comment Proposals • Public comment booklets on each table • All attendees may discuss and provide feedback • Each OPTN/UNOS member institution has one voting representative • Sponsoring committee considers regional feedback in development of final proposal • Board receives all public comment • Your feedback is important!
